Dad's Cancer Surgery ... TODAY!

Friends and Family ... many of you have been praying for my father with the news of his prostate cancer. This morning was his surgery and it looks like it went well. I received this email from my sister this afternoon. Please continue to pray as the next week is recovery central! Thank you! Updates will be posted as they come available! Thank you!!

"Mum is here and we just got the call from the Doctor – surgery went longer than he thought (3.5 hours ish) but he is doing well, is just going to recovery for 2 hours and then mum will go see him. He had to have a transfusion as he lost a lot of blood and for the threat of going into shock with lack of blood. Thankfully Sue (family friend and nurse who often works in the OR with Dad's surgeon) is here also explained that to us – it is very normal to lose lots of blood and need a transfusion due to the vascular network of blood vessels etc. He would have taken some surrounding tissue and some lymph nodes to check for cancer and to be sure they got all the prostate"
