Out of all four seasons, I think Spring is the most encouraging!
Here in Montreal, Spring is semi-hitting us. The sun has been shining bright and hard for the past couple days, we have been watching the snow melt off our front porch overhang and seeing the squirrels ALL over the place! I have enjoyed not feeling frozen-to-death and getting to wear my sunglasses. I keep looking out the windows for that first bud ... and then my husband says "We will get more snow you know!" Thanks a lot! (Sometimes I forget I'm not in Vancouver anymore where the cherry blossom trees are in full bloom by now!) To top it all off, while picking up the mail today, my neighbour mentioned that the forcast is for 20cm of that white stuff tomorrow. I guess my husband has some sort of wisdom!
Having said all that ... Spring is the one season that encourages me forward! I always sense that 'new birth' or 'life' they talk about Spring representing. This week I have had one job interview and am heading to a couple more before Friday. Tomorrow I start my music contract, teaching for the morning and I am looking forward to it. You see, G and I vowed that 2009 would be a NEW year, one that stands out from the rest because of good (and challenging) choices made. A year that moves us ahead, not backwards.
That conscious decision included some work on both our parts. It meant me trying to get back into my professional field of teaching. Also, it requires Gino to get even more serious about his profession. So we are doing just those things! We are 'springing' ahead and making those choices that may be tough or a little scary, but we are doing it. And so far this week, it has really paid off. (More of that to come!)
So I am ready for Spring! Whether the snow falls tomorrow and sets things on hold for a little longer, I am looking ahead and seeing Spring. Not only in the season outside, but in the seasons of life.
What's your season looking like right now?
