UN-freakin'-BELIEVABLE!

I am starting to think that something tragic will happen if we put up this pool! You?

My last post filled you in on our pool soap opera and the resistence we seem to get everytime we apply ourselves to complete the task! Wednesday was no exception, EXCEPT, we took a look at the sky around 10am and realized that the weather man, once again, was mistaken. So our umpteenth attempt began.

And all was going really well ... the frame and the sand foundation inside was complete ...

... when it came time to install the liner! Prior to un-boxing the liner, we confirmed the order of the what and how-to's and called the waterboy (we are on a well and need to truck in the water) to tell him were were just hours away from needing him. And then, we realized that our well was DRY! The pump had been going for a good hour when I mentioned it's over-exursion to G and P. And on their examination, they turned off the pump and we were without water! You heard me ... WITHOUT water!!!

So Mr. WaterBoy was called back to cancel the order AND we didn't have any water for the rest of the day. The toilets weren't allowed to be flushed for a while, the showers that everyone wanted after a day of working outside were put on hold and we PRAYED for the well to refill. We are incredibly grateful the we were able to use the washrooms by bedtime.

On a positive note, the pool now stands somewhat resurrected. We are that much closer to having it done.

However, this mom is somewhat concerned now. It seems to me that we have been trying to put a ball in a square hole when it comes to this stupid pool! I am incredibly hesitant to finish the job now, paranoid that something tragic will happen once we complete it. Too many times the plans we have made have been halted. It just doesn't sit well with me one bit. I truly am nervous about the end result or what may happen because of it. You?

What do you think? PLEASE! Help us decide ... am I just being a crazy worry-wart or is there something to be said for all this?

Hey Al,
so I completely understand what you are saying and here's what I would do:

Pray and ask God if you should or shouldnt'.

As you may know, we are moving to Kelowna. We did not look for a house with a pool, though most have been gated. Perhaps you can set up a eye-friendly fence around the pool, so as to help keep out the kiddies until you are around to watch them?
Just an idea.
That said, we ARE going to get a pool that we can take down at the end of each summer & store away. That way it's not something I have to worry about all year round.
Also, you might want to consider (if you haven't done so yet) a pool cover.
Just my two bits :-)
Love reading your blogs...what a life you live!!
Cheers, Gina

I would pray but also ask yourself this...Are you 100% certain that buddy would not have access to that pool without your knowledge. If he's ever taken off into the yard or anywhere else without you, then trust your gut, and give the pool to someone else.
Safety first! There's always public pools!
