This weekend was a whirlwind ... but a GREAT whirlwind!!
Friday evening, friends of our came in from Ottawa to spend Saturday with us. It is always great when they come and visit. Saturday morning I had a couple errands to do, and then EJ, her kids and I went out for the afternoon. When we returned home, her hubby L and G took off for 'a car ride'. What was that!? I found out later on.
That evening, G and I had a double date planned with some new friends of ours from South Africa. Well ... that was the plan. Actually, it was the well mastered excuse! What actually took place was a HUGE SURPRISE for me ...
G had orchestrated an evening with our closest friends and his family to celebrate our 12th Wedding anniversary. What he put together was so incredibly precious. He had pictures on a presentation (of which I'm told we only saw a portion of them due to lack of time to coordinate it all!), a whole program that included him sharing 'our story', interspersed with some of our favourite and memorable songs sung by Master G himself. It was absolutely incredible!!
There were desserts for our friends to enjoy as we shared this special moment with them. And then at the end of the evening, G shared the purpose of the evening. When we got married, he vowed that every five years we would renew our vows. I always thought it was a little much, but I did marry a French-Italian afterall! Year five we did renew them by the water with his family and a few friends. Year ten we did not renew our vows. 2007 was a tough year for us. We were at a very different place. But this year, G said it was time. So, G's mentor and our friend J, led us through the renewal of our vows.
It was incredibly emotional as you can imagine! But I am soooo incredibly thankful for a husband who not only stands by his word, but after everything we have walked through the last 12 years, he would marry me all over again ... Thank you G! You have an amazing way about you. And I love you ... and would totally marry you all over again too. Oh wait, I think I just may have on Saturday evening ...
Here are some more of the photos taken of the evening ... and a little of the story with them.

A, how absolutely wonderful! I have a tear in my eye and goosebumps on my arms just reading about it! What a work God has done. May He continue to do such wonderful things in all of us! Blessings to you both (and your precious little one too!).
