This year marked the start of G's own business (I.F. Services Inc.). He has been working in renovations f/t and gone to school p/t to earn his certificaiton. So now he is officially a building inspector and has truly found his niche! He has many gifts and talents, but this one really cuts the cake. In fact, he did a inspection for friends of ours as they purchased a new home and the sellers of that home contacted the business, requesting him by name and not settling for another inspector! (Currently he subcontracts himself to an established inspection firm from which he is only one of many.) There's nothing like being specifically requested for your first PAID inspection! What a celebration ... it really proves this is a natural fit for him!
In order to "up" the professionalism of the role, we decided to embroider some polo shirts for him and have emailed the other inspectors to see if they are interested in purchasing a couple. There are many things we have done in order to get the business up and running (including spending a good chunk of $, marketing and gaining good business sense from the accountant!) but just getting this shirts done seems to make it REAL! (and of course the first invoice to GT Inspections was a hoot to mail off too!) It is a great feeling to know that G has found his niche and ready to completely succeed at what he does! Go G Go!
