Monkey See, Monkey Do

EX.HAUS.TED!!!

Blame it on the pregnancy, or on the first weekend camping and not having everything one needs.  Either way, today required a two hour nap!

Buddy and I enjoyed a trip to Zig Zag Zoo this AM with a friend and then we had a major meltdown around lunch ... he had the meltdown, not me ... just sayin'.  So I decided the planned swimming date would need to be replaced with a nap.  When I got home, I was welcomed by my little girl's absence of control ... doggy diarrhea.  Nice.  Just what I needed.

Once we were all cleaned up, Buddy was snoozing and it was quiet, I laid my little head on the couch.  Ahhhh ... an hour later, buddy came, nudged me and I sent him to the playroom.  I was not yet finished!!  He was so sweet and gave me another hour before he told me it was time to get moving.  So into the playroom for some Lego time together.  Love that!

However, before ALL of today's experiences ... I was witness to a real sweet moment.

It may not look like much (not the clearest iPhone shot), but it was sweet ...

Quite often, my son stands in my shoes and witnesses me at the piano.  Playing.  Singing.  Learning.  I LOVE my piano time.  In fact, he knows that this is the Music/Reflection room.  It's not for running or climbing on furniture, but for making music or needing some quiet book time.  So here he was.  Playing the piano and enjoying something that rejuvenates his mama.  Something that brings life to G and I when we sing and play together.

Don't tell me they don't learn by example! ;)  (Let's hope the above mentioned meltdown wasn't learned by example ... yikes!)

And he didn't forget our useful 21st century piece of music equipment.  The iPod/iPhone.  I have a ton of musical rhythm/click tracks (shout out to Praise Charts!) on my iPhone and sometimes have it blaring while we all sing and play along.  So Buddy needed his iPod too.  The only difference?  His amazing talent, *wink wink* and the music he enjoyed 'music-ing' to ...

My monkey saw.  And my monkey did!

Great blog Alex.
Make the most of every day--they are numbered--as you did today.
And happy 14th anniversary. The best is yet to come.
Several anniversaries around this time: you, Karen, Jenny. Dan and us.
All looking good right now.
May God bless our marriages and bring glory to Him through them.
