Over the past few weeks I have been a little pre-occupied. Pre-occupied by important family events, yet not remembering too many of my precious son's milestones. Not that he had a birthday, or starting using the potty. Just the little things that are always nice to journal about and may be some of the answers to his questions when he's older.
Yesterday he found a new puzzle I put on the shelf for him. It only took him 3 days! He gets completely consumed with his trains, and the other activities get checked out less often. The puzzle he found was a number puzzle. He has really shown an interest in letters and numbers these days. In the grocery store, he checks out all the signs and tells me the numbers! So this puzzle has become his new favorite activity. He will come and yank on my pants to celebrate this new phenomenon! And he knows most of them. Not only does he call them by name, he recognizes their matching location. I don't know ... he's the first born, so maybe I'm a little bias. Maybe it's all part of the birth order thing. Either way, I have a 23mth old that tells me what number he is holding and puts it in the correct puzzle slot. Maybe he'll be the king of the casino ... hope not! Maybe a scientist or a economic professor? Maybe a reno guru like his dad. I don't really mind what his career choice ends up being. I just know that today, at 23 mths, I am so proud to be a mom. More proud to be the first female in this little guys life.
Way to go Buddy! I love you!
PS Just waiting to hear from my parents with Dad's test results. Here's to 10 figures all crossed and prayers galore raining upwards!
