The big '3-4' is comin' up for me this week. Not a huge birthday to celebrate, but a birthday none the less. I'm trying to look at it as a day to celebrate me. Previous years have just been birthdays - just another year under the belt so to speak. But I am realizing in my old age and incredible wisdom *ha ha ha* that birthdays really should be about celebrating the person, not the years. Not that we shouldn't be celebrating each other all the time, but this is one of those days set aside by God himself, to focus on you, or the birthday boy/girl. When we celebrate our kids birthdays, it seems to be more about the person than the age, at least to me. So ... this year, I am going to celebrate ME. What I have learned. What I have been blessed with. And what exciting things are still to take place. I would love for you to celebrate with me! Here was my first 'ME' celebration with 2 of my girlfriends and Buddy for lunch last week. Thx Lana, Julie! Love you!

OK... so allow me to focus on you for a moment. Although we haven't spent time together and weren't "close" as young adults, I've always seen these as traits of yours that God must have knit into you when he made you. Your passion for worshiping God, your energy for loving kids the way the need to be loved, your dedication to your family and your infectious laugh are the things I remember about you. Happy Birthday Alex!
